چکیده

Streptomycin decreased the polyuridylic acid-dependent incorporation of C'4-labeled phenylalanine into acid-insoluble products in a cell-free system containing ribosomes of streptomycin sensitive E. coli and supernatant of either sensitive or resistant cells. There was no inhibition when the system contained ribosomes of streptomycin resistant E. coli and supernatant of either resistant or sensitive cells. The experiments show that streptomycin interferes with ribosomal function in sensitive bacteria and point to the ribosomes as the site of streptomycin sensitivity. They also show that the genetic locus determining streptomycin sensi tivity is part of a ribosome-specific region of the bacterial chromosome.

Molecular dynamics studies on the denaturation of polyalanine in the presence of guanidinium chloride at low concentration

Molecular dynamic simulation is a powerful method that monitors all variations in the atomic level in explicit solvent. By this method we can calculate many chemical and biochemical properties of large scale biological systems. In this work all-atom molecular dynamics simulation of polyalanine (PA) was investigated in the presence of 0.224, 0.448, 0.673, 0.897 and 1.122 M of guanidinium chlorid...

Interaction of Nucleic Acids, I. Physical Binding of Thymine, Adenine, Steroids, and Aromatic Hydrocarbons to Nucleic Acids.

In a previous communication,' it was shown that the helix-coil transition temperature, Tm, of thymus DNA and helical poly A is lowered by pyrimidines, purines, nucleosides, their analogues, and derivatives. The order of their effectiveness indicates that hydrophobic and stacking interactions are important. To investigate the mechanism by which the Tm is reduced is one principal purpose of this ...

Electrochemical and Spectroscopic Studies of Interactions of Mn(III) Complexes with Nucleic Bases and Nucleosides

The complexes of Mn(OAc)3 and/or Mn(acac)3 with nucleic bases and nucleosides (adenine, guanine, xanthine, adenosine and guanosine) have been synthesized in nonaqueous solution. Polarographic and spectroscopic (IR and Visible) methods have been used to establish the active site(s) on the imidazole and pyrimidine rings in the nucleic bases and nucleosides for the intera...

How Do Palladium Complexes Affect on Coil Structure of Human Serum Albumin in the Presence of Carbon Nanotube? A Molecular Dynamics Study

To investigate the interaction and adsorption of drug and carbon nanotube on human serum albumin, three anti-cancer drugs ([Pd(phen)(R-gly)]NO3, R = methyl, propyl and amyl) with different hydrophobic tails and anticancer activities were selected. These drugs have better anti-tumor activity and less side effects than that known cis-platinum drug. Human serum albumin is also ...

Interaction of Human Serum Albumin with Ethyl 2-[2-(dimethylamino)-4-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3-thiazole-5-yl]-2-oxoacetate as a Synthesized Ligand

The interaction of human serum albumin with Ethyl 2-[2-(dimethylamino)-4-(4-nitrophenyl)- 1,3-thiazole-5-yl]-2-oxoacetate was investigated by using isothermal titration UV-visible spectrophotometry in tris-buffer, pH 7.4. According to these results, it was found that there are a set of 4 binding sites for this ligand on HSA with positive cooperativity in the binding process. This thiazole deriv...
